What We Do
"Serving God's People through Education, Ministry, and Mission"
Rooted in Scripture and shaped by our Samoan Christian heritage, the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa (CCCAS) engages in ministries that form disciples, prepare leaders, and serve communities across American Samoa, the United States, New Zealand, and Australia. Through education, chaplaincy, mission outreach, and Christian resources, the CCCAS continues the Church’s calling to carry out God’s mission in proclaiming the Gospel throughout all creation.
The CCCAS educational ministry is rooted in the belief that learning and faith grow together. Through its schools (Kanana Fou Elementary, Kanana Fou High School, and Kanana Fou Theological College), the CCCAS is committed to preparing leaders, strengthening families, and nurturing disciples across generations.
The CCCAS chaplaincy ministry is one of the church’s most compassionate expressions of pastoral care. Rooted in Christ’s call to comfort the suffering and seek the lost, CCCAS chaplains of the LBJ Hospital Chaplaincy and the TCF Prison Chaplaincy, both located in American Samoa, serve as the church’s presence in places where people face illness, crisis, confinement, and profound vulnerability. Through prayer, counseling, worship, and spiritual companionship, the chaplaincy embodies the heart of the Gospel—meeting people where they are and reminding them that God’s love reaches every corner of life.
Mission churches embody the heart of the CCCAS beyond the shores of American Samoa. Established across the United States, these congregations serve as spiritual homes for Samoan families living in the diaspora—preserving faith, culture, and community in new and diverse contexts. Rooted in the Gospel and grounded in the Samoan Christian heritage, mission churches provide worship, pastoral care, and fellowship for Samoan communities far from home. They nurture intergenerational faith, strengthen families, and offer a place where language, culture, and identity are celebrated as gifts from God.
Its Office of Christian Education is the heart of the CCCAS’s discipleship and faith‑formation ministry. It equips congregations with the resources, training, and guidance needed to nurture Christian growth among children and youth. Through Sunday School curricula, Bible study materials, leadership development programs, and church‑wide educational initiatives, the Office of Christian Education ensures that the teaching ministry of the CCCAS remains vibrant, theologically grounded, and culturally rooted in Samoan Christian identity.
The Lamepanewsletter is the official publication of the CCCAS and a unifying voice for congregations across American Samoa and the diaspora. More than a newsletter, Lamepa is a ministry of communication—sharing theological reflections, church news, pastoral messages, educational resources, and stories that celebrate the life and mission of the CCCAS. It connects congregations separated by oceans, preserves the church’s historical memory, and provides a platform for teaching, encouragement, and spiritual insight. Through Lamepa, the CCCAS strengthens fellowship, deepens understanding, and keeps the global church informed, inspired, and connected in faith.
The CCCAS Bookstore serves as a vital resource center for the spiritual and educational life of the church. It provides Bibles, hymnals, theological texts, Christian literature, Sunday School materials, and CCCAS publications that support discipleship across all ages. More than a retail space, the bookstore is a ministry of equipping—ensuring that congregations, pastors, teachers, and families have access to the tools they need for worship, study, and Christian formation. Through its work, the bookstore strengthens the teaching ministry of the CCCAS and helps preserve the church’s theological and cultural heritage.
The CCCAS Tautua Printshop supports the communication and administrative needs of the church by producing printed materials for congregations, ministries, and denominational offices. From Assembly documents and educational resources to newsletters, bulletins, certificates, and promotional materials, the Printshop ensures that the church’s message is shared clearly, professionally, and consistently. Its work enables ministries across the CCCAS to function smoothly and remain connected, making it an essential partner in the church’s mission to inform, inspire, and serve God’s people.
Together, these ministries reflect the heart of the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa (CCCAS): a church committed to forming disciples, strengthening families, and serving communities across American Samoa and the global diaspora. Through education, chaplaincy, mission outreach, Christian formation, and the sharing of resources and publications, the CCCAS continues its calling to proclaim Christ and care for God’s people in every season of life. United in faith and guided by our Samoan Christian heritage, we carry out this work with gratitude, purpose, and hope for the generations to come.
