Pacific Conference of Churches

"Working Towards a Safe and Just Pasefika"

The Pacific Conference of Churches (PCC) is a regional ecumenical organization representing Christian churches throughout the Pacific.  Its mission is to promote the visible unity of the Church by addressing shared concerns of justice, peace, human dignity, and the integrity of creation.  PCC also supports capacity‑building initiatives and stands in solidarity with its member churches during times of natural disaster, social upheaval, and community hardship.

Guided by its foundational principles, PCC embraces an ecumenical spirit that welcomes all people regardless of religion, belief, or ideology. It upholds justice and peace, affirms the equality of women and men, honors the diverse cultures of Pacific peoples, and encourages the equitable sharing of resources and responsibilities. In the Pacific context, ecumenism extends beyond church unity to include the unity of Pacific peoples and the communal life that sustains their societies.

Through its membership in the PCC, the CCCAS participates in a regional fellowship that amplifies its voice on issues affecting the Pacific. PCC provides opportunities for churches to engage in shared mission, theological reflection, and advocacy on matters that shape the spiritual, social, and ecological wellbeing of Pacific communities.

Among PCC’s current priorities, capacity building holds a central place—especially the formation and training of those who lead churches and councils of churches. This includes empowering young people to take on meaningful roles in both church and society. PCC also advances three additional program areas of medium‑term priority:  partnership in mission, strengthening collaboration among Pacific churches; the prophetic voice of the Church, calling communities and governments to justice and righteousness; the empowerment of women, promoting leadership and participation in church and civic life.

Promoting ecumenical cooperation among Pacific churches remains a core commitment of PCC, ensuring that Pacific churches continue to walk together in faith, unity, and shared mission.
