Our Ecumenical Partners
“Strengthening Christian Unity Through Shared Mission and Partnership”
The Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa (CCCAS) is deeply committed to the unity of the global Christian community. Through its participation in regional and international ecumenical organizations, the CCCAS joins with churches around the world to strengthen Christian witness, promote justice and peace, and collaborate in mission and ministry. These partnerships reflect the Church’s belief that the Body of Christ is called to work together for the transformation of the world.
The CCCAS is a member of several major world ecumenical bodies, including the Council for World Mission (CWM),the World Council of Churches (WCC), and the World Communion of Reformed Churches (WCRC). Regionally, the CCCAS is a member of the Pacific Conference of Churches (PCC), and locally, the CCCAS is a founding member of the National Council of Churches of American Samoa (NCCAS).
In terms of ecumenical partnerships with individual denominations, the CCCAS has a “Partnership in Ministry and Mission” in place with the United Church of Christ (UCC) since 1998; and is working towards a similar partnership with the Uniting Church of Australia (UCA). As the CCCAS continues to expand in the United States, the CCCAS is also seeking to establish ecumenical relations with the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the United States (NCCCUSA).
The CCCAS also maintains relationships with religious organizations, mission partners, and theological networks that support its ministries, strengthen its global connections, and expand opportunities for shared learning and service. Together, these partnerships affirm the CCCAS’s commitment to unity in Christ, collaborative mission, and faithful service across the Pacific and around the world.
