"Opportunities for Service and Mission"

The Congregational Christian Church in American Samoa (CCCAS) offers meaningful pathways for individuals who feel called to serve God, strengthen the Church, and support communities across American Samoa and the global diaspora. Rooted in the Gospel and guided by our mission to proclaim Christ in word and deed, these opportunities invite gifted people to contribute their skills, leadership, and faith to the life of the Church.  Whether through employment, ministry, education, or global mission partnerships, the CCCAS provides avenues for service that nurture discipleship, empower communities, and extend the reach of Christ’s love.

The CCCAS employs dedicated individuals across its ministries, institutions, and administrative offices. Opportunities may include teaching and administrative positions; program and ministry support; technical, multimedia, maintenance, custodial and operational roles supporting church administration and infrastructure.  These positions strengthen the daily work of the Church and support its mission to serve families, congregations, and communities with excellence and compassion.

As a member of the Council for World Mission (CWM), the CCCAS participates in the global Partners in Mission (PIM) program—an exchange of people, gifts, and leadership among churches around the world.

Through PIM, individuals may serve in pastoral ministry and theological education, community development and justice-oriented mission work, and short-term and long-term placements across the Pacific, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and Europe.  These partnerships deepen global fellowship and allow the CCCAS to both send and receive mission personnel who enrich the life of the Church.

The CCCAS also continues its historic commitment to mission by sending ordained ministers to lead and support mission congregations abroad (galuega faamisionare). These pastors serve in CCCAS mission churches in the United States, diaspora congregations in Australia and New Zealand, and emerging Samoan communities seeking pastoral care, sacramental leadership, and cultural grounding. Ordained missionaries provide preaching, teaching, pastoral care, and community leadership, strengthening Samoan Christian identity and supporting families far from home.

Each opportunity—whether employment, mission partnership, or ordained ministry—reflects the CCCAS’s commitment to nurturing disciples, equipping leaders, and extending Christ’s mission to all places where our people live and worship.

Those who feel called to serve are encouraged to explore these pathways and discern where their gifts may be used for God’s glory and the good of the Church
