Kanana Fou High School (KFHS) was established in 1998 as part of the mission of the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa (CCCAS) to provide a Christ‑centered secondary education for young people throughout American Samoa. Rooted in the values of faith, discipline, and service, the school was founded to ensure that the next generation of leaders would be formed not only academically, but spiritually and morally.

Located on the main Kanana Fou campus, the school opened its doors with an inaugural class of eight students. Over the years, enrollment steadily increased, eventually serving more than 230 students from across the island. As the only private high school in American Samoa to host a JROTC program, KFHS has long distinguished itself through leadership training, discipline, and character formation. Students also benefit from access to the campus soccer/rugby field and gymnasium, supporting a well‑rounded program of physical education and extracurricular activities.

The school is led by a Principal and a dedicated team of full‑time faculty and staff who are committed to providing a high‑quality, faith‑grounded education. KFHS follows the standard curriculum used in American Samoa’s public schools, supplemented by additional courses in Christian living, ensuring that students grow in biblical understanding, moral character, and spiritual maturity. Oversight of the school’s operations is carried out by the Education Committee (Komiti o Aoga). While the school receives limited assistance through federal grants administered by the local government, its core operations are funded entirely by the CCCAS, reflecting the Church’s deep commitment to Christian education.

Students of KFHS have consistently excelled in island‑wide academic and co‑curricular competitions. Over the last decade, KFHS students have placed well in major island-wide events such as the Annual Science Fair, Speech Festival, History Day, and especially JROTC competitions, where the school has earned a reputation for excellence. These achievements stand as a testament to the dedication of the faculty and staff whose commitment to academic rigor and Christian formation ensures that Kanana Fou High School continues to provide exceptional education to all its students.
