Our General Assembly

"Where Churchwide Vision and Direction Are Set"

The General Assembly is the highest governing body of the Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa (CCCAS).  Meeting biennially in the month of July, the General Assembly brings together delegates from all member congregations to pray, discern, and make decisions that guide the Church’s mission, ministry, and future direction.

As the central expression of the CCCAS’s congregationalist identity, the Assembly holds final authority over churchwide governance, doctrine, mission priorities, and the interpretation of the Constitution and bylaws. It reviews motions from the Regions, oversees the work of Standing Committees and Auxiliary Fellowships, and ensures that every congregation has a meaningful voice in shaping the life of the Church.

At the close of each Assembly, delegates elect the General Assembly Officers, who are entrusted with implementing Assembly resolutions and overseeing the daily operations of the Church from its Main Office in Kanana Fou.

The General Assembly stands as a visible sign of the CCCAS’s unity in Christ—gathering the Church to worship, to discern God’s will, and to strengthen its shared commitment to proclaiming the Gospel and nurturing faithful disciples across generations.
