Our Organization
"A Congregational Church rooted in Faith and Community"
The Congregational Christian Church of American Samoa (CCCAS) follows the congregationalist model of church governance, upholding two core principles in its organization:
-
-
- The independence of each member congregation in managing its own local affairs; and,
-
The authority of the General Assembly as the highest decision‑making body of the Church.
-
The CCCAS General Assembly convenes biennially in the month of July, gathering delegates from all CCCAS member congregations to deliberate on matters concerning the mission and ministry of the Church, providing direction for the life and work of the CCCAS as a whole.
The work of the CCCAS is carried out through six Standing Committees(Komiti Tumau):
-
-
-
Elders’ Committee(Komiti a le ‘Au Toeaina): Oversees clergy and spiritual oversight
-
Finance Committee(Komiti o Tupe): Manages church finances
-
Development Committee(Komiti o Atina‘e): Fundraising and development
-
General Purposes Committee(Komiti o Feau Eseese): Property, building and infrastructure
-
Education Committee(Komiti o A‘oga): Educational programs
-
Missions Committee(Komiti Fa‘a‑Misionare): Local and global mission work
-
-
In addition, there are five major Auxiliary Fellowships(Mafutaga Lagolago) that support the mission and ministry of the CCCAS through their specialized ministries:
-
-
-
Women’s General Fellowship(Mafutaga Aoao a Tina)
-
Christian Endeavors Fellowship(Mafutaga ‘Au Taumafai)
-
Prayer Watchers Fellowship(Mafutaga ‘Au Leoleo)
-
Diaconate Fellowship(Mafutaga Aoao a Tiakono)
-
Youth General Fellowship(Mafutaga Aoao a Tupulaga Talavou)
-
-
Each of these fellowships operates under the sanction of the General Assembly and carries out work that strengthens the life and mission of the Church.
Districts & Regions:
The more than 100 member congregations of the CCCAS are organized into 29 Districts (Pulega)— each lead by an Elder Minister. These Districts are further organized into 12 Regions (Matagaluega)—each led collectively by the Elder Ministers whose Districts make up the Region, and the Elder Deacon of the Region. Members of the Standing Committees and Auxiliary Fellowships are selected from each Region. This structure ensures representation, collaboration, and shared leadership across the global fellowship.
Below is the CCCAS organizational chart illustrating the Church’s governance structure—from the General Assembly, Standing Committees, Auxiliary Fellowships, Regions, Districts, and member congregations. Together, these interconnected components reflect the CCCAS’s commitment to disciplined governance, collaborative ministry, and faithful service across its global fellowship.
